If you are new to our church community, we’d love to help you feel comfortable and connected as soon as possible.
We trust you will find our church family warm, friendly and welcoming. We encourage you to take the time to fill in a Welcome Card which can be found in the front foyer.
We offer two worship services on Sundays. The morning inter-generational service starts at 9am. Our Night Service gathering starts at 6pm, and is more contemporary and relaxed.
During our worship services, we start by gathering together to sing in worship. We take time to share church community announcements and stories which then proceeds to praying for the life of our church and issues affecting our world. An opportunity is given every week for the members of our church to bring a financial offering as part of worship. This is completely a free-will opportunity. More worship through songs and prayer takes place which is followed by a biblical message delivered by one of our pastors or leadership team members. The messages are usually 25 minutes in length and we aim to make them appealing, engaging, motivating, challenging and applicable.
Communion is celebrated in both services on the first Sunday of the month. Everyone is invited to participate in this important sacrament.
Special ‘Agora’ services (personal stories of faith with a free meal) are held a number of times during our Night Services. In addition, we also hold our night services on our Veranda Hub on special nights during the warmer months.
During our morning worship services, we have a parents’ retreat available for those caring for new-borns to toddlers; a ‘Kids Zone’ program for children Pre-Prep to Year 6 at school; and a junior program (crèche) for children who can sit to Pre-Prep. Just ask one of our welcome team members or one of our children ministry team members wearing a black SVCC Kids shirt.
After our worship service on Sunday mornings, we provide a morning tea in our Veranda Hub area, where complimentary tea and coffee is available. This is a great space to meet and get to know others. Supper is also provided after our evening gathering.
Our Small Group Ministry is an important part of church community life. We have a range of small groups that meet at various times and places throughout the week. We have a small group coordinator who is more than happy to connect you to a suitable group according to your needs and age group. Our Welcome Cards give you the option to indicate your interest in joining a small group. In addition, we have a range of activities for children, youth, young adults and young families that take place across the weekends (mainly Friday evenings and night).
We’d love to get to know you better. We hope you find your connection with us life-giving.
